The role of the volunteer in any organization is vital as they are often the unsung heroes, the hands and feet of the organization; stepping in to help out when needed. There is no one reason that people step up and give the gift of their time – but here at the Family Sunshine Center, we thank you for choosing to share that most precious gift with us. And we’re not alone in offering those thanks. Among many things, April is National Volunteer Appreciation Month. It’s our opportunity to lift up those who help us behind the scenes and offer a sincere “Thank You!” for all the work you’ve done, the hours you’ve put in and the events you’ve helped make successes.
In 2021, 516 volunteers provided just shy of 7,000 hours of services. Those person-hours equal around $193,500 in services. Without their talents, skills, and servant’s heart, the staff of the Family Sunshine Center would not be able provide the services and programs we do.
Are you interested in becoming an FSC volunteer? Contact our new volunteer coordinator Tiffany Elmore at telmore@familysunshine.org or 334-206-2100. She’s ready and set to answer any questions and – with the events we have popping up between May and the end of 2022 – searching for new volunteers.
