We have been sitting on a big secret for months and I am so relieved to finally be able to share the news about Louisa, our new facility dog. As a pet owner myself, I know all about how they can provide comfort and a feeling of safety. For over two years now, we have been working with Service Dogs of Alabama, a statewide organization that trains service and facility dogs.
While we knew we were going to get a facility dog, we weren’t sure when and didn’t know who the dog would be until early May. Our team spent a week training with Louisa, learning her commands, and getting a grasp on the best ways to work with her, our clients, and our staff.
If you are going to the World Games in Birmingham this summer, you might see some of the billboards or digital pieces we created in partnership with the Alabama Anti-Human Trafficking Alliance. We are blessed to have some talented team members who came up with the theme and created the visually impactful ads. Take a look at our article inside to learn more about the campaign.
I am blown away by the generosity of our community partners over the last few months. From events like the River Bend BrewFest and Grill and Chill at Harley Davidson Montgomery to the handbag drive and sale at The Gab Salon to the fundraising efforts of Hanon Automotive Systems, our partners have shown how important they view the programs and services that we provide.
Every penny that is donated to FSC underpins our programs and services and provides match for many federal grants. There are many ways that you can give to FSC, please visit our website to learn more.
I hope you all have a safe and happy summer! Thank you again for supporting our programs and mission of helping clients on their journey.
