During the holiday season, when most of us are looking forward to family, friends and festivities, our clients are often struggling to stretch already tight budgets to provide even the smallest of celebrations for their families. The holidays should be a magical time filled with family and love, but for those dealing with the traumatic effects of violence, this is not always possible.
The holiday season is also a time when many of us think about how we can give something back. During this season, we encourage you to give however you can. We have a few different giving programs this fall:
Our Thanksgiving Dinner drive provides the food and fixings or gift cards to our clients, so that they may purchase all the trimmings for a delicious Thanksgiving meal. With the average cost of Thanksgiving dinner projected to be over $65 this year, your donation will go a long way to help our clients celebrate the holiday without breaking the bank.
#GivingTuesday is a great time to show your support for FSC. While many of us will be buying holiday gifts for friends and family on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, the day after Cyber Monday, November 29, 2022, is #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving to support good work worldwide. We hope you will take this opportunity to help support our mission and programs.
Adopt-A-Family program connects clients in need with donors who want to spread holiday cheer. After you sign up to adopt a family, we will send you an identification code for your family along with a wish list with sizes, preferences, and any special needs.
Keep an eye out on our social media and website over the next few weeks for more information on how you can get involved.
A little can go a long way to making the holidays brighter for our clients in need. No matter how you choose to give this holiday season, we thank you!
