Family Sunshine Center mourns the loss Dr. Anne Permaloff

Anne passed away in December 2019 after a brief illness. Among many things, Anne was the 2015 recipient of FSC’s Estelle Popkin Award, the highest honor given annually to a volunteer. The award is given to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the agency and who has impacted the availability of services to family violence victims in the Montgomery area. Anne served on the board of directors for 6 years. She was the chair of the program committee and in this capacity, led the agency through the process of assessing each program and making any needed changes. Under Anne’s leadership, the Program Committee remained very active and spearheaded changes improving the quality of victim services. She was without doubt the most knowledgeable when it came to Robert’s Rules of Order and we could count on Anne to make sure our board followed proper procedures and documented board actions accurately. While Anne’s presence is missed, her impact and influence on the Family Sunshine Center will not be forgotten.
