Kids in the Family Sunshine Center residential programs and counseling are going back to school. For many of our clients, there often are no funds left over for uniforms, books, or school supplies – even the basics of pencils and paper after all the bills are paid.
We want to make sure that these students have everything they need for a successful school year, including school uniforms. Studies have shown a strong correlation between student access to school uniforms and student attendance. Starting the school year with new uniforms helps to build confidence in students and allows them to better focus on classwork.
You can help by providing a brand new school uniform or making a monetary donation. No donation is too small. To “adopt” a child or for more information contact Griffin Pritchard at gpritchard@familysunshine.org or call 334-206-2193. When you “adopt” a student, you will receive an information sheet with that student’s sizes and school colors.
This drive will begin on July 15 and continue until August 15. Donations can be dropped off at our administrative offices at 858 South Court St from 9am – 5pm. Please keep an eye on our website and social media for more information.
