As I approach my five-year anniversary at Family Sunshine Center, I realize now there is very little down time in our organization. There’s time to catch your breath and move into the next season with renewed energy to tackle the opportunities and challenges that come your way. Here are just a few of the highlights of the last quarter:
We returned to 100% capacity in our residential programs, due to the reduced risk of COVID spread in our local area and the continued protocols for sanitizing. During the quarter, we saw 110 new clients and provided services to 733 individuals across all of our programs.
It has also been a time of change for the FSC team. We have several new team members bringing energy and talents to our programs, while at the same time we said goodbye to those who have left for new opportunities.
We are still recovering and cleaning up from Ranch RoundUp 2022. It was our first major in person event since the pandemic began and were nervous about how it would all pan out. Pulling off a successful event requires a great deal of time and commitment from all of those involved, including our board, staff, and volunteers. I’m proud to say that it was not only a great example of what our team can accomplish but was also a financial success, raising much needed funds to support our mission of hope and healing. Thank you to everyone who worked to plan, execute, and attend Ranch RoundUp!
April will be an active month for outreach and communications. This is a time when we recognize Sexual Assault Awareness and Child Abuse Prevention Month, and it is also a time when we celebrate our volunteers during Volunteer Appreciation Week. There is so much that happens in our organization that would not happen without our dedicated volunteers sharing their skills and talents. Also, in April, we will begin work on our new strategic plan. The management team and board of directors will gather in April for an initial workshop. Additional sessions will follow, with the final plan to be approved by the board in September.
We still have a way to go to reach our fundraising goal for the year. We need your support to continue helping victims/survivors on their journey of hope and healing.
With gratitude,
Tay
